In this article, you will read about ITI courses which are conducted after 10th or 12th.  This article has been prepared keeping in mind the needs of vocational training aspirants.  Here are listed some of the best ITI job oriented courses.

What Is ITI ?

Do you know what is the full form of ITI well, the full form of ITI is Industrial Training Institute.  ITI has been established with the objective of providing vocational training to Indian students.  ITI has been constituted under DGET (Directorate of Employment and Training), Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Central Govt.

As I have mentioned earlier, ITIs provide technical training to the students. They concentrate on vocational education and the development of industry-specific skills. The main objective of such institutes is to develop a skilled work force in India.

Presently, there are many  government and private  ITIs across India, which provide vocational training to the students.  On completion of training, candidates appear for AITT (All India Trade Test). And successful candidates are awarded NTC (National Trade Certificate).

The main objective of ITI is to make its students industry-ready, so that they can get good jobs.  To make this possible, ITIs also organize apprenticeship programs.

Know About ITI Trades (Courses):

ITIs in India offer training programs called 'trades' with each trade focused on a specific industry or skill set.  In this article, we will look at 'trades' simply as 'Course'.

Course Duration:

The duration of an ITI course can be anywhere from 6 months to 2 years.  The duration of the course depends on the type and nature of the course.

Types Of Courses:

Basically, there are two main types of ITI courses –

  • Engineering courses/trades
  • Non-engineering courses/trades

Engineering courses consist of technical courses.  Where the subjects are focused on the concepts of engineering, mathematics, science and technology.

Non-engineering courses, as the name suggests, are generally not technical.  They focus on soft skills, language, and other area-specific skills and knowledge.  In this article, you will get to know about both engineering and non-engineering trends.

Eligibility Criteria:

The eligibility criteria is different for different courses.  Generally, depending on the course, the eligibility may range from 8th to 12th pass.

Admission Process:

Good institutes (both government and private) rely on a merit based admission process.  These institutes sometimes also conduct a written ITI exam to select the deserving students.  Direct admission can be taken in some private institutes.

ITI Course Fees:

If your admission is done in a government college, then no fee will have to be paid or very less fee will be charged, but if you want to do an ITI course from a private college, then the fee may have to be paid a little more.

Whether it is a government job or a private job, you will get the work of your trade only, if you are from fitter trade then you will get the work of fitter only.

You can get information about job vacancies from newspapers, job magazines, online job sites etc.

Now the question comes that on what basis will you get the job?

When a company or institution has job vacancies, there are some rules on the basis of which students can apply.

For example, recruiting students of a particular trade, age limit, caste etc. After this the recruitment is done on the basis of selection test and interview.
